Newbies tend to be clueless on the necessities to prepare for the new addition into the family.
Below are some of the basic necessities that can make life more cosy for your hamster(s).
ACCOMMODATIONS
Basically, there are 2 types : Cage or Tank
1) CAGES
2) TANKS
- Prices for cages range from $20+ to $100+, tanks cost $20 to $40 while customised tanks may cost more.
Dwarf hamsters like Winter Whites, Campbells and Roborovskis can stay in smaller homes while Syrians are recommended to stay in 2ft home. As hamsters are great escapists, do ensure that the cage/tank doors are closed at all times unless with supervision.

1) CareFresh (grey), CareFresh Ultra (white), CareFresh Colors. *CF/CFU as commonly termed*
2) Healthy Pets (grey), Healthy Pets (white). *HP/HPU as commonly termed*

TOILET AND TOILET SAND
Recommended brands of sand to use are :
1) Charlie Chinchilla Sand ($16/bot)
2) JR Farm Sand ($31/4kg pack)
3) Sluis Sand ($11/bot)
4) QueFeng (QF) ($12/2kg pack)
Why only the above 4 are recommended?
Other brands of sand especially the scented ones are found to cause skin irritation and furloss to some hamsters thus we do not encourage them to use it. Some are of powdery types which can cause respiratory problems.
(We try to recommend something better though the price may be abit more than those commonly found.)
As for toilet/bath houses, there are many out there to choose from.
From normal rectangular to circular to squarish or odd shape, as long as it is comfortable for your hamsters!
Price ranging from $2 (small rectangular tupperware container) to $10 for some branded types.

A hideout (Daiso or Marukan Hamhead, Ceramic Bowls, any other cosy "bed" ) will provide hamsters with a sleeping corner.
A toilet roll can provide self-entertainment when YOU are not around to play with them.
Plenty of Interaction Time between you and your hamster will be the best play time they want!
